Exploring the balancing act of being a full-time artist and stay-at-home mom.

Busy weekend
Saturday was the grand opening of my friend Helena's studio and gallery in Middletown, Ohio. After a week spent pulling the space together, everything looked great. We had throwing demos and lampworking. I spent the day making agateware goddesses.
Today, we took Mica to Indiana for pictures. It's hard to believe how much she's grown. She's a little girl now, not a baby at all anymore.
She's a doll. We're so very fortunate. She's been shy for the last week. It started after Thanksgiving at my parent's house. We think that she was just over stimulated and there were too many people. Since then, she has been a little reluctant to go to people that she doesn't know very well. It made pictures with Santa much more difficult.

I'm a ceramic bead and jewelry artist in my mid-30s. I've been happily married for about 15 years to a man whose generous support makes it possible for me to work full-time (or almost) as an artist. We have a beautiful baby girl born in August of 2004.

It was good to see you over the weekend, Val. I'll look forward to seeing you again on Dec 26th.
